Today has been spent reviewing the list of companies I want to apply to for my second co-op. My school, Northeastern University, has a unique 5-year program where students can weave into the existing curriculum three, six-month internships in their desired industries. It's a great way to get experience early on and find out what I do/do not want to do when I graduate. Perfect for me, right?
I'm narrowing things down to a few industries: event planning/catering, editorial/magazines, and retail (think Neiman Marcus). So, I've been writing my first round of cover letters that I'm hoping will be sent out by the end of the month. I'm trying my best to keep things on schedule. I'll keep you updated.

My first co-op, at a not-for-profit healthcare company, left me feeling unfulfilled. This time, I'm making it count.
You're going to shine wherever you do your next co-op! What cities are you considering?? Sounds like you're doing a lot of the search on your own - I'm proud of you!
ReplyDeleteI only get to do two co-ops because I'm in Int'l Business - my second one will be in Mexico or South America!
ok i LOVE your blog and your style - so glad you found me, I'll definitely be back to your blog from now on! Have a great night. :)

ReplyDeleteHi! First time visiting your blog and I love it! Just thought I'd add my two cents, but I'm a meetings assistant and *new event coordinator. I enjoy my job a lot and I'm realizing that you have to LOVE and thrive on the little details to really make events shine. (Which seems like you already have a good grasp on that!) I've worked a lot of weddings too and guests and the BRIDE of course always relish in the details. Let me know if you want some more insight to the "business". Would love to chat! :
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Just from the few minutes I've spent on your blog, I can tell you will rock wherever you go! If you come to Dallas, let me know!
