i need direction

Do you ever get that feeling where you just want to do more with your life? More traveling, more fulfilling work, more money-earning work, more learning and reading, more volunteering, more projects, more, more, more! This sentiment is hitting me hard right about now...I think it's because I have enough free time to let my mind wander. But with that free time, I should be doing these things!

What are your strategies for tackling a never-ending wish/to-do list?

A little project I tackled the other day: an old calendar of vintage maps becomes our newest piece of wall art.

ahhhhhhhhh

oatmeal, my superfood

I'm still adjusting to this new city/job/life/etc. but that's definitely not to say that it hasn't felt like home ever since I got here. I love my apartment, love where I work, love the freedom I have on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I don't have to work and love how I feel like I am in the right place at the right time. That deserves a big ahhhhhh.

Getting back into the swing of yoga has also put a smile on my face. I'm looking for a studio where I can take classes, but then I think, "C'mon, yoga at home is FREE!" Being that this internship is unpaid, I just don't have money to throw around. So, the question is, is it worth it?

We don't have anything big planned for this weekend, and I like that. I got to sleep in until 9am this morning (that's late for me - woohoo!). Right now, I'm just enjoying my coffee and about to whip up a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I love Saturdays. :)

P.S. Happy National Yoga Day!

so jazzed

laguna beach, ca // xmas break

Hey there!

Yeah, I've been away...but tending to important business, I swear! In the past week and a half, I:

+ picked up the car I'll be using for the next 6 months!
+ moved into our gorgeous new apartment!!
+ started my new job!!!

I have been so energized with all this positive change! I feel incredibly lucky to be where I am, and I know that I'll learn, and already have learned, SO much at this job. Despite the long commute (45 minutes to work and 45 back), I'm so jazzed to go to work (Mon, Wed, Fri) and really soak up all that I can about event planning. This is me crossing my fingers that I've finally found what I truly want to do!

More details as things move along...have a happy Monday!!!

positive energy in twenty ten

I really love this time of year. It's full of excitement - a fresh, new year is here to embrace. I personally love the idea of setting resolutions. Ones that are attainable. Goals are what motivate me to do more, be more, learn more, love more. Here's what I'm striving for in 2010:

+ Read at least 8 books
+ Confirm study abroad (England, France, Greece, or Italy)
+ Join a yoga studio and practice weekly
+ Add swimming to my fitness repertoire
+ Ride in an MS 150
+ Try 2 new recipes per month
+ Gift handmade xmas presents
+ Start a mini herb garden
+ Document outfits on love in details
+ Enhance my painting and drawing abilities
+ Climb Half Dome in Yosemite again
+ Go camping, Texas-style
+ Embrace my inner vegetarian
+ Think positively, exude confidence, and let life happen. (Easy, right?)
